Arif Saeed

Chief Executive Officer at Service Industries Limited

Mr. Arif Saeed graduated from Oxford University. He has served as the CEO of Dar Es Salaam Textile Mills Limited from 1992 to 2006. He has also been Chairman of the All Pakistan Textile Mills Association APTMA) and the Lahore Stock Exchange, and served on the Board of Sui Northern Gas Pipelines Limited (SNGPL). Mr. Saeed has been the founder Chairman of Quaid-e- Azam Solar Power Company, Punjab Thermal Power Company and National Power Parks Management Company (Private) Limited which altogether successfully set up four leading power plants in the public sector.

Baela Raza Jamil

Chief Executive Officer at Idara-e-Taleem-o-Aagahi

Baela Jamil is a public policy specialist and an activist at heart. She is the former Technical Adviser to the Federal Ministry of Education, Pakistan. Baela has worked with provincial and federal governments advising on education sector reforms and policies. She is a Commissioner to the International Commission on Financing Global Education Opportunity (Education Commission) chaired by Gordon Brown. Baela serves on several advisory platforms globally, UNESCO, Global Alliance to Monitor Learning (GAML) at the UNESCO Institute of Statistics (UIS); Global Business Coalition for Education (GBC Ed); People’s Action for Learning Network (PAL Network) and the Right to Education Initiative.

Shahid Aslam

Former Vice President at NESPAK

Shahid Aslam is an electrical engineer with over 35 years of experience in the power, energy and infrastructure sectors. HE has successfully executed large-scale power projects in Pakistan and abroad and has worked with top management in the conception of project, feasibility studies and models. He has an MBA degree from LUMS and an M.Sc. Electrical Engineering from the University of Engineering and Technology.

Irteza Ubaid

Head of Business Development, Shams Power Private Limited

Head of Business Development, Shams Power Private Limited Irteza Ubaid is the Head of Business Development at Shams Power, Pakistan’s leading distributed solar generation company, where he looks after corporate strategy, business development and fundraising activities. He is the TEDx Ambassador to Pakistan and curates TEDxLahore. He holds a Bachelors degree in Engineering from NUST and an MBA from LUMS.

Dr. Faisal Bari

Dean of the LUMS School of Education

Dr. Faisal Bari is currently serving as the Dean of the LUMS School of Education and an Associate Professor on joint-appointment for Education and Economics. His research spans disability inclusion, gender representation in textbooks, the use of education technology for TPD, teacher politics and the political economy of teacher recruitment and retention, and the role of the private sector in education reform. He is a member of the Higher Education Commission and has previously served as a Board Member for the Punjab Examination Commission. Dr. Bari obtained a Doctorate in Economics from McGill University and a Master’s Degree in Philosophy from the University of Punjab. He has two Bachelors’ degrees, one from University of Oxford and another from Government College, Lahore.
